About the role
Permanent platform-engineering role for a large public-sector estate: Kubernetes and GitOps on one side, Proxmox and virtualised server environments on the other, plus the secure links between data centres.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and operate applications for Kubernetes; containerise workloads with Docker
- Define and run CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD)
- Administer Linux servers and shell automation; operate Nginx and HAProxy
- Configure and operate Kubernetes, Docker and Proxmox including Ceph, backup, firewall and networking
- Configure Redis and MariaDB databases and clusters; connect S3 storage
- Design, initiate and administer secured connections between data centres
- Automate with Ansible; configure firewalls (e.g. pfSense)

Your profile
- Linux server administration with shell programming - 5+ years
- Kubernetes, Docker and Proxmox - 5+ years; Nginx and HAProxy operation
- CI/CD and GitOps (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD) - 5+ years
- Ansible, firewall configuration, cluster configuration (MariaDB, Redis) - 2+ years
- S3 storage integration; secured inter-data-centre connectivity - 2+ years
- German C1 or better
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
- Independent working on complex infrastructure problems
- Public-sector or regulated-environment references welcome
